straight lines graphs
straight line graphs :
a straight-line graph conatain;
- an x term,
- a y term,
- and a number
-
y = mx + c
The equation of a straight line on a graph is made up of a y term, an x term, a number wich are written in the form of y = mx + c.
- The slope of the line is known as the gradient and is represented by m in the equation.
- The point at which the line crosses the y-axis in the in the equation
eg : or example, when x is 1:
y = 2×1 + 1 = 3
Check for yourself that x=1 and y=3 is actually on the line.
Or we could choose another value for x, such as 7:
y = 2×7 + 1 = 15
And so when x=7 you will have y=15
it can be also find by : rise/ run
